JStility

Useful, smart, and simple libraries for everyday development.

What We Build

JStility creates open-source libraries and utilities that solve common problems with elegance.
From build tools to string translation engines and parsers, every project is designed to be:

  • Smart by default — works out of the box with sensible defaults, no configuration required to get started
  • Flexible — easily configurable when you need more power, with plugins and custom hooks
  • Respectful — built on existing standards and APIs, integrating seamlessly with your current workflow
  • Community-driven — transparent development, welcoming contributions from everyone

Our growing collection includes:

  • Build tools — smart wrappers around battle-tested compilers (like @jstility/tship)
  • String utilities — grapheme-aware translation, case conversion, and formatting helpers
  • Parsers & serializers — robust, spec-compliant implementations for everyday formats
  • More to come — we're always exploring new ideas

Every project follows the same principles. We believe great utilities should be invisible until you need them.

Our Principles

  1. Simplicity first — the best tool is the one you don't notice. We start with zero configuration and let you opt into complexity.
  2. Respect the ecosystem — we build on top of battle-tested foundations, not against them.
  3. Open by default — source code, roadmap, and discussions are all in the open.
  4. Inclusive — contributions of all kinds are valued, whether it's code, documentation, design, or feedback.

Join the Community

All our projects are open source and hosted on GitHub (opens in a new tab).
Here's how you can get involved:

  • Contribute code — pick an issue tagged good first issue and submit a pull request
  • Improve documentation — help us keep our docs clear, accurate, and beginner-friendly
  • Report bugs — open an issue with a clear reproduction if something doesn't work as expected
  • Suggest features — share your ideas for making our tools even better
  • Spread the word — star our repos, share with colleagues, or write about your experience

We're always happy to help new contributors get started. Reach out on GitHub or open a discussion.
